Orthopaedic rehabilitation
Recovery after surgery and injury
Orthopaedic rehabilitation is a physiotherapy process aimed at rebuilding movement, strength and everyday function after injuries or operations affecting the musculoskeletal system.
Meniscus and ligament surgery, the period after a fracture, shoulder and hip surgery, joint replacements, sprains, muscle–tendon injuries and loss of movement after a long period of immobilisation can be assessed within this scope.
The process starts with an assessment. Range of motion, strength, pain, swelling and function are recorded using appropriate measurement methods. The treatment programme is planned according to these findings, the diagnosis, the stage of healing and the person's daily life or sporting goals.
Exercise therapy is one of the core components of the programme; where needed, manual techniques, physical agents and other supportive methods can be added. The same measurements are repeated at regular intervals to track progress, and the programme is updated accordingly.
At our clinic, the orthopaedic specialist and the physiotherapist can review the same patient's progress together when needed. If your operation was carried out at another centre, simply bring your operation report, your imaging and your surgeon's instructions on rehabilitation.
